Complete Guide to Fall 2017 Fashion Trends from The Runway

London Fashion Week displayed so many different fashion trends, as the years go on there are so many to see that we can often get lost in the trends of that year. On the runway, this September was all sorts of fancy, and casual outfits fit for anyone who is willing to try them. Fall 2017 fashion trends range from washed-out denim shorts to shorter, floral skirts. It’s so exciting to see the fashion industry grow to what it is now and even beyond that point. Fall is a season that can be confusing in terms of what to wear and what not to wear. Often the days are too cold for skirts and shorts but they’re too warm for scarves and thick woollen socks. I actually made the mistake of wearing a thick, material coat to London Fashion Week and I was really warm the whole time! Eventually I did take it off whilst I was inside but this type of weather is so confusing, and the fact that it can change so quickly and at any point is dangerous in terms of what you could or should wear.

The catwalk was full of amazing models and designs that all represented fall 2017 fashion trends, I was so mesmerised by all the designs available. The clothes that you could buy were the collections shown on the designer catwalks, instead of talking pictures of the models I thought it was a lot more appropriate to display the designs and fashion trends on the hanger, purely so that you can see the piece in all its glory without being obscured by the model or how the clothes or accessories look on them. We must see clothes for how they are rather than on individual people otherwise we can’t imagine them on ourselves.

Fashion trends aren’t always just purely about clothes, it’s about how you accessorize them and what you wear it with. Make sure you always take out a lovely bag or some jewellery to spice up your look, this is great when you’re going out to an event as it shows you’ve tried and you can look good.

I fell in love with this rustic, hippie style frill dress. The color is a fall favourite and that was very prominent on the catwalk. So many designers have brought out collection this season that centre around certain colors and one of these is orange. Not bright, in-your-face orange more like dark and gorgeous orange with a hint of taking it back to the cowboy days. This dress is ideal to put over tights and maybe some brown or black boots. Ankle boots would probably look best with this but if you’re more of a knee-high gal then don’t let us stop you. The lace on the dress means you can essentially create your own style, if you want a dress that is more revealing then you can have it but you can also lace up most of the dress which can also create a more modest look if that’s what you’re aiming for.

Models on the catwalk made this dress and dresses like this, look amazing. Any figure can really rock this dress as long as you have confidence then you’re good to go. The frills really do take me back to the 80’s and show off the slightly historical look that designers tend to go for with fall 2017 fashion trends.

As it starts to get colder, we need to wear more layers and a coat is a great layer to keep you warm in the breezy days or when the sun isn’t just warm enough. This blue and black classic chesterfield coat was available to buy for only £395 (around $530) and is just below knee height depending on how tall you are. The design is chic and elegant, plus we all know how popular checks are this year? The catwalk was full of fall 2017 fashion trends that incorporated checks, from pants to t-shirts to beautiful coats like this. The golden buttons were very traditional with four buttons overall, two on each side. This type of coat is ideal if you want to look fashionable, chic but also be able to keep you warm, the fabric is super thick and very nice to touch. I have a coat similar (except its red) and it has definitely served me well in the cold winter last year. Lots of lovely ladies wearing these and I even seen a few buy them so they’re very popular off the catwalk too. Womens apparel isn’t always just simple t-shirts it can be lovely winter coats like this one too.

Fashion isn’t always about the clothes, sometimes it’s what you put with it and LFWF definitely showed us this. When the models walked down the catwalk, despite being confident and looking amazing – they all had accessories with them. From handbags like these to just a simple silver necklace. You can never go wrong with a nice accessory and often they can help to bring your whole outfit together. There is the struggle of looking and feeling the part when you’re at certain events but when it comes to putting on some jewellery or choosing a bag we must get it right. These ones came in all different colours and looked amazing if you want an elegant classy, look. We don’t always want to lug around heavy backpacks or bags that weigh us down. The smaller the bag, the more likely we are to not put a lot of crap into it! If you have a smaller bag, you’ll find yourself not wanting to put all your life into it, just the essentials. The beautiful gold coloured bag would look great with a dressy-up outfit whereas the black bag could be used for everyday wear. Obviously, these bags weren’t cheap so if you want to get a good bag then you should always go and look at them in person as on the internet and on articles you can’t really judge how big or small they are.

It's always a good idea to finish off your look with a nice statement piece of jewellery. This stall caught my eye as I had seen a few people wearing their pieces and a few models on the catwalk too. Their speciality was putting certain star constellations onto necklaces and them allowing people to purchase it. I love stars and this idea was something I just couldn’t stop thinking about.

Necklaces are always a piece that people are drawn too because often they are on central on your body, therefore meaning people see this before anything else. They also did earrings and bracelets that look nice too. 2017 fall trends are all about making your outfit look better with accessories!

If they’re not really your thing then that’s totally fine too, everyone has a preference and if you don’t like wearing jewellery then that is your decision! Whatever you do, make sure you love what you wear and feel confident wearing it.
