70s Fashion Trends are Back: Here’s How to Rock the Looks

Image
The 1970s was an explosion of creativity, and this was evident in the fashions and icons that defined that decade. Bell-bottom jeans, large floral prints, geometric patterns, and disco pants are only some of the distinctive 70’s fashion trends that influenced generations of designers throughout the world. This year, 70s style clothing flooded the runways and catwalks as the legendary decade once again inspired the fashion gurus of our time. If we go by the recently concluded Fashion Week shows, it is obvious that the 1970s influence is here to stay. This isn’t surprising at all, as the 70s did make some positive waves in fashion. People craved freedom, and the desire to express themselves was obvious through the styles that they wore. The secret to rocking these styles today is to not go all-out 70s. What you do is take key elements from whichever style you like best and mix it up with your current wardrobe for a modern take on 70s fashion. Read on as we break down the tre

Complete Guide to Fall 2017 Fashion Trends from The Runway

Image
London Fashion Week displayed so many different fashion trends, as the years go on there are so many to see that we can often get lost in the trends of that year. On the runway, this September was all sorts of fancy, and casual outfits fit for anyone who is willing to try them. Fall 2017 fashion trends range from washed-out denim shorts to shorter, floral skirts. It’s so exciting to see the fashion industry grow to what it is now and even beyond that point. Fall is a season that can be confusing in terms of what to wear and what not to wear. Often the days are too cold for skirts and shorts but they’re too warm for scarves and thick woollen socks. I actually made the mistake of wearing a thick, material coat to London Fashion Week and I was really warm the whole time! Eventually I did take it off whilst I was inside but this type of weather is so confusing, and the fact that it can change so quickly and at any point is dangerous in terms of what you could or should wear. 7 Ways to Wear Petite Dresses

Image
Regular-sized dresses are typically made for women that are approximately 5' 5" in height or above, and because of this, shorter women often have a hard time looking for clothes that fit them straight off the rack. Women who are 5’ 4” and under are classified as petite, therefore meaning petite dresses are the welcome solution to this sartorial dilemma. Are you a short gal? If so, you understand the clothing struggles of all fellow short girls everywhere. Ill-fitting shoulders, trailing hems, sleeves that are too long, frequent trips to the tailor for much-needed alterations—the list goes on. The good news is, many clothing brands now carry petite sizes, and there are a few good stores that specialize in petite outfits. Clothing that is specifically designed for petite sizes will often have shorter sleeves and narrower shoulders to fit the petite woman’s smaller frame. When shopping for dresses, choose one that flatters your body shape. Find styles that add an illusio

New York Fashion Week Reveals New Fashion Trends

Image
The best weeks in the fashion industry are always the fashion weeks. New York, Milan, Paris, or London, they’re all able to highlight the gorgeous fashion trends of the season or the coming seasons. Due to the popularity of the fashion weeks, designers have started to always reveal their designs a season or two early. New York fashion week has just passed and designers like Victoria Beckham displayed their upcoming spring and summer collections which has really set the bar high for all the other brands and designers who will be putting out designs in the coming months. Having your fashion displayed at any fashion week is amazing and these designers always work extremely hard to set the fashion trends for everyone. New York Fashion Week is probably the biggest week out of all the popular ones (and there is 2 every year it’s so big!) and therefore if brands or designer get the chance to displayed their work during this time at such a big event they will take their chance. The Burning Man Festival

Image
The Burning Man festival is an annual gathering between the 27th of August and the 4th of September in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. It displays some of the art and community within Nevada, bringing everyone together for a fun-filled few days of self-expression, community cooperation and decommodification. It is one of the biggest art festivals in the US. The site is based on a simple navigation system, if you study a map before you go then you should be able to find different events going on around the festival easily. In 2015, around 70,000 people attended the festival, with smaller regional events inspired by the festival happening throughout the year. The name of the festival comes from the symbolic ritual burning of a large wooden effigy that occurs on the Saturday evening of the event. All the proceeds raised by the festival that don’t go on the festival itself go towards the Burning Man Project, a non-profit organisation that supports the work of like-minded organisati
